The title of this blog must seem a little weird considering Frankie Edgar defeated BJ Penn twice. They will coach opposite each other on the upcoming 19th season of The Ultimate Fighter and they will fight each other for a third time next summer. Edgar will be the favorite, and rightfully so. However, what if BJ Penn wins? It seems far fetched considering the beating he took in his last two fights at the hands Nick Diaz and Rory Macdonald.
That was at welterweight and this time, Penn is going down to featherweight which is ten pounds lower than his optimal performance weight of 155 lbs. By the time this fight rolls around it will be Edgar’s first fight in twelve months and nineteen months for Penn. If Frankie Edgar is defeated, he will lose more than just another fight.
